Liam Cooper says he has to tell Leeds teammate Gjanni Alioski to ‘shut up’
♋ that he has to tell Leeds United teammate Gjanin Alioski to “shut up” sometimes, as the Macedonian is renowned for his high-energy antics behind the scenes.
💎Alioski, 27, is in his third season at Elland Road after joining the club for £2million () in the summer of 2017 from Europa League outfit FC Lugano. He has surpassed 100 appearances for Leeds this season, with his tally currently at 106.
ওWith LUTV’s coverage and the Amazon Prime documentary, Alioski is seen as a bit of a clown character. Whether it is pulling faces in front of a camera, or shaking the tunnel before the team go out to warm up – Alioski is always messing around.
🧜Captain Cooper was asked which player was the funniest of the lot and the centre-back responded with Alioski – not because the versatile star is hilarious, but because “he is just stupid”.

🦂“There’s quite a few to be fair,” , when asked who the funniest member of the team is. “I think Ali is funny because he is just stupid. There’s always a noise or something coming out of his mouth.
🌊“It does get annoying. I have to tell him sometimes ‘shut up will you’. Baz (Barry Douglas) has a little go and tries to get involved but purely out of stupidity, I will have to say Ali.”
𒉰Alioski is currently at Thorp Arch after pulling out of the Macedonia squad to play against Austria and Israel in Euro 2020 qualifying on Saturday and Tuesday. He has missed the last two games through injury.
꧙The left-sided flyer has shown versatility at left-back and on the left side of midfield, and is being touted as one of the next players to be handed a new deal with his current deal expiring in the summer of 2021. Mateusz Klich has signed a new deal.
