Liam Cooper delivers verdict on Leeds loan star Ben White’s future
that on-loan Leeds United defender Ben White has a ﷽huge future ahead of him in professional football, but did not state whether that will be at Elland Road.
White, 22, joined Leeds in the🐎 summer on a season-long loan from Brighto🥀n. He was somewhat of an unknown, but Marcelo Bielsa had clocked the youngster’s performances on loan at Newport County and Peterborough United.
The defender has since started💝 and finished all of Leeds’ 16 Championship matches, partnering the likes of Cooper, Gaetano Berardi and Luke Ayling. His style of play has helped Leeds fans forget all about Pontus Jansson, who left in the summer.
Asked about arguably Leeds’ best summer signing, Cooper gave a glowing verdict when discussing White and predicted that the Brighton ꦯdefender w🌠ould go on to have a big future – but he did not state whether that would be at Elland Road.
“He’s a joy to play with,” “He’s an unbelievable player ꦯand is going to have a great career in the game. I think I’ve heard him say this week that he needs to keep level and keep performing every week. He’ll do that, he’s a great lad.”

TBR’s view – What do Leeds need to do to keep White?
Promotion, and splash the cash. We saw Tyrone Mings shine at Aston Vil🧸l༺a last season as the Midlands outfit gained promotion via the play-offs – while on loan from Bournemouth. He returned to Bournemouth, and Villa were tasked with signing him.
Villa did land the former Ipswich man – splashing an enormous £26.5million to get the Eng﷽land international. For White, Leeds will have to do similar to lure 💯him to Elland Road from Brighton.
he is worth £20million and that value could even increase by the end of the season. If Leeds ar♎e to sign him, they need to gain promotion and be willing to splash the cash to sign him.
