Liam Cooper comments on penalty decision against Leeds on Twitter
Liam Cooper has made it clear on Twitter that he does not believe that Leeds United should have had a penalty given against them during their 2-1 defeat to Fulham on Saturday.
Ben White was penalised when Bobby Reid w𝓰ent down inside the box during the early stages of the loss. White’s arms were up, but there appeared to be very little contact between the two. There certainly did not seem to be enough to send Reid💮 to the ground.

Unfortunately for Leeds, Aleksandar Mitrovic converted the spot-kick to put the home side ahead. And they would ultimately secure the♕ three points t✃o boost their own automatic-promotion hopes.
And it i🃏s clear that 🍨Whites captain Cooper could not understand the decision to penalise his teammate.

The centre-back took to social media after the game to respond to BBC🐷 Radio Leeds 🥀journalist Adam Pope’s tweet about the penalty.
Cooper took exception to Pope ♕initially labelling the incident a lapse from Leeds. And the skipper expressed his belief that there is no way that a penalty should have been given.
Here is Cooper’s tweet on the penalty…
Have a lo🌠t of respect fo⛎r you Adam but that isn’t a lapse mate.. It’s never a penalty.

In fairness to Pope, he clarified that he ag🐽reed with Cooper after seeing a replay of the decision…
I’ve seen it back & yeah it never was Liam.
— Adam Pope (@apopey)
It will certainly be tough for Leeds to take. It was n✱ever going to be an easy game, but the Whites squad would be forgiven for wondering ✱how different the fixture could have been had a penalty not been given.
Leeds will feel that they did enough to win the game, so will be disappointed that they had to spend almost 50 minutꦛes searching for an equaliser.
