‘Let’s make it real’: Arsenal fans delighted by links to Lille’s Jonathan David
Arsenal go into the next two transfer windows knowing they need to get it right to build on what was, overall, a pretty successful summer in 2021.
Players like Aaron Ramsdale, Sambi Lokonga, Ben White, and Nuno Tavares have all settled in well and look like being stars of the future. For Mikel Arteta, the key now is to compliment those players with the right pieces around them.
Going into January, one of the key areas to address is up top. Both Alex Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang aren’t firing, while Eddie Nketiah looks set to leave. It is interesting, then, that reports now claim the club are scouting Lille striker, Jonathan David.
The claims that Arsenal have been watching David. The Lille man already has 12 goals this season, and is proving quite the player in France. Further, he’s also got 18 already for Canada.
And Arsenal fans have been having their say on Jonathan David over on Twitter. In the main, it seems he’d be a welcome addition to the club. However, some are wary of Lille players, after Nicolas Pepe’s failed big-money move.
