Leeds United’s Gianluigi Buffon transfer rumours no longer look like ‘comedy’
In the summer, Leeds United were linked with a shock move to bring in legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Bu♎ffon from Paris Saint-Germain.
and it had a minority of Leeds United fans excited that the club might actually sign one of♛ the greatest goalkeepers to have ever played the 🍨game.
Of course, the deal didn’t happen, as⛦ most Leeds fans expected. and everyone moved on. Leeds eventually signed French 🐟youngster Illan Mes🐲lier as back-up to number one Kiko Casilla. Buffon headed back to his beloved Juventus and that was that.
But after comments from the Leeds United chairm🐟an this week, could the rumours about 176-cap Buffon have been t🔥rue?
Andrea Radrizzani told , that he made reque🍌sts about both Edison Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in January after Eddie Nketiah was recalled by Arsenal.
Radrizzani is obviously a well-connected man and his links with PSG and AC Milan, the team 🧜Zlatan eventually signed for, are well-known.
It was the links wi🙈th PSG’s hierarchy that led to a Cavani enquiry and Buffon was, of course, just coming to the end of his contract in the French capital when Leeds were suddenly linked.
Neither deal s🐻eemed likely, either did Buffon. But amid his latest comments, it could be that Leeds really did at least ask the question regarding the Italian legend.
