Klopp should give Marko Grujic his chance at Liverpool after proving himself at Hertha Berlin – TBR View
With Liverpool pulling out of the race to sign Timo Werner and now Philippe Coutinho begging for a return, it’s easy to think that the Reds are in ‘must buy’ situation.
Of course, an element of that might be true. The very best clubs manage to stay on top by consistently ensuring their squad is better than the rest. That includes bringing through new talent as well as signing the best available.

And while the signing of Coutinho would be an eye-raising one and excite a section of fans, the truth is that the Reds don’t really need to go back for the Brazilian. Yes, he was good while at Anfield but the player and the club have both moved on and in rapidly different directions.
Furthermore, Jurgen Klopp could well have what will feel like a new signing on his hands anyway. That comes in the form of Marko Grujic, who is set to return to the club from Hertha Berlin.
It could be, then, that Liverpool saves themselves millions in the market by simply utilising one of their own.
High praise from Germany, time for Grujic to shine
Grujic will return to the club a changed man it seems. Two years in Berlin have seemingly done him the world of good, especially this season, where he has developed into a more well-rounded midfield player.
He’s netted four times for Hertha from his central midfield role. It’s not all about goals, though, as he’s been integral to the team throughout the campaign thanks to his all-action displays.

That is something that Hertha sporting director, Michael Preetz, has confirmed recently.
“Liverpool will get back a player who is definitely more experienced than he has been before because he earned very important game practice,” Preetz told .
“And we also had profit out of this past two years with Marko. Marko is a player who is present in both penalty boxes. Just in his first year, he was extraordinary”.
Interest is apparently there for Grujic from other clubs. However, it AC Milan have turned down the chance to land the Serbian midfielder.
So, with Liverpool once again looking to challenge on all fronts next season, Marko Grujic could have a vital role to play.
And while he might not be as eye-catching or flashy as signing Coutinho would be, he might just prove to be one of the aces up Jurgen Klopp’s sleeve next term.
