Journalist shares what Leeds are now planning after selling Archie Gray

Leeds United are one of the big clubs in England in need of a rebuild of sorts this summer.

A failure to win promotion last season has seen them stung by a huge wage bill and a need to clear the decks a touch ahead of next season.

Luckily for Leeds, they have managed to bring in nearly £40m for Archie Gray to soften the financial blow but they could still lose others.

The likes of Gio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville are wanted by a number of different clubs, meaning Leeds could need even more new signings.

Of course, the recruitment drive has already started with the arrival of Joe Rodon.

And according to Ben Jacobs, more signings could now follow as Leeds look to kick on after the end of June PSR deadline ticked over.

What Leeds are now planning to do after selling Archie Gray and signing Joe Rodon

Speaking for , Jacobs has said that Leeds are now making plans to strengthen in the market, which could be accelerated further if they sell Crysencio Summerville.

“Leeds will now be looking for a wide player and a striker, and that will become even more pertinent if Crysencio Summerville departs. They could also be in the market for another right-back as well,” Jacobs said.

“It’s interesting with Archie Gray because he was playing right-back for Leeds, but my understanding is that Tottenham are looking at him in midfield as well, and he can obviously play in both positions.

“Now we’re into a new financial year, I think Leeds will be active in the market. They would still like to bring in two or three players between now and when the window shuts.”

The Whites go into the Championship campaign as one of the big favourites to win promotion.

Daniel Farke will be aware the pressure is on immediately this season and he simply has to get the new signings right.
