Jonathan David’s transfer plan is great news for Rangers regarding Alfredo Morelos stay
One of the main battles Steven Gerrard and Rangers face this summer is keeping Alfredo Morelos at Ibrox.
The Glasgow side are desperate to keep their main striker at Rangers but he has undoubtedly been attracting attention from around Europe in recent weeks.
Without Morelos, Gerrard would be without the firepower necessary to topple Rangers’ Old Firm rivals and stop 10 in a row, so making sure the Colombian stays is as important as bringing in new talent to Ibrox this summer.
Which is why the news of Rangers star Scott Arfield’s international team-mate Jonathan David’s preferred next destination should be considered good news for Gerrard and co.
The Canadian, is adamant about joining French side Lille where he would replace Victor Osimhen, who is Napoli-bound.

The reason why this apparent £27.3 million move should have Rangers excited, is because of who is next on the French side’s shortlist to replace the Nigerian.
That would be Morelos who, was the subject of a failed £13.7 million bid with the player has agreed to a move.
However, should Lille get their hands on Gent forward David, which looks increasingly likely, then there will be no need, and no money left, for the French side to secure the signature of Rangers’ biggest goal threat.
So Ibrox fans should be hoping that David makes his move to Lille a reality in the weeks to come.
