Speaking to ESPN, Jermain Defoe has been discussing the current crop of𒀰 Tottenham players compared to his generation, and he made ✅quite the claim about a pair of wingers.

Indeed, Defoe was asked to create a combined XI of Spurs players from 2010 and 2025, and, interestingly, he picked Aaron Lennon ahead of Heung-Min Son.

Defoe was asked to pick 💜between Son and Lennon, and he, remarkabl𝔍y, chose Lennon.

Lennon was a fantas🌟tic player in his day, and he had a brilliant record alongside Defoe, assisting the England international on a number of occasions.

Defoe picked Lennon over S൲on, which is a controversial call to say the least.

However, Son has been criticised heavily this season, and some have even 𝓀said that Tottenham should sell Son this summer.

Indeed, Defoe w𒈔as heavily favourable towards the 2010 team ahead of the 2025 side, picking ju🎃st one of Spurs’ current players in this combined XI.

Lennon being picked ahead of Son was certainly a controversial call, and 💯when you look at the stats, it’s a pick that doesn’t make the world of sense.

Even this season, Son isn’t at his best, but he’s still putting up numbers th😼at Lennon never could at Spurs.

Defoe has been very harsh on Son here, but with this Tottenham side currently sitting in 15^th place, it’s hard to blame Defoe🔴 for not being so keen to praise the current crop of Spurs players.
