Jamie Redknapp comments on Jack Wilshere’s West Ham exit, suggests new club
Jamie Redknapp has told Sky Sports News (Monday, 8:40pm) that it was the right decision for Jack Wilshere to cancel his West Ham United contract and move꧂ on to find a new club as a free agent – suggesting a Championship side as a potential move.
Wilshere, 28, has struggled with numerous injuries throughout the course of his career – but has seemingly been fit for a number of months, being affo🍌rded the odd game here and there by David Moyes and West Ham.
However, with his Hamm𓆏ers contract expiring next summer, the former Arsenal and England midfielder posted on Instagram to confirm he had left West Ham on a free transfer – meaning he is now a free agent.
The statement, posted on Twitter and Instagram, stated that he was frustrated at a a lack of game time at West Ham – claiming he had been fit for the majority of 2020 but was continually overlooked by Moyes. Redknapp sugges🥂ted Bournemouth.

“It’s up to the manager, the manager doesn’t want to play him, what can you do? I like Wilshere, 🙈the best thing he cꦚan do is go and play for another club. I think Bournemouth, Bournemouth would be a good shout under Jason Tindall,” Redknapp said.
TBR’s view – Bournemouth could be ideal for Wilshere
Wilshere went on loan to Bournemouth in 2016-17 and it was one of his longest injury-free spells in recent years, clocking up 27 appearanc♌es in all competitions for the Cherries. A return is certainly a possibility, but MLS clubs have been linked.
But a move to the recently-relegated club would give Wilshere plenty of game time, ꦿcertainly, he would be first choice. Keeping him fit is crucial but Wilshere needs to play and at Bournemouth – a club he knows well – would be a good move.
