Jamie O’Hara left so furious about decision that went against Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace that’s ‘killing the game’

Aston Villa would have been shell-shocked after the full-time whistle was blown to confirm their 4-1 defeat against Crystal Palace.

However, Unai Emery꧑ has no choice but to accept the result and move on — which especially comes as a blow considering Villa beat Chelsea 2-1 just a few days ago.

But the Premier League is known to be one of the most competitive leagues in the world for a reason and Crystal Palace proved that by dismantling an Aston Villa𝔉 side that are in the race to secure European football.

A brace from Ismaila Sarr alongside goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eddie Nketiah meant Morgan Rogers’ equaliser counted for nothing.

꧂Unai Emery will be hoping his Aston Villa side put their latest result behind them quickly and bounce back against Cardiff City in the FA Cup.

ওBut Emery might still be frustrated about Rogers’ initial equalising goal being disallowed when Crystal Palace were leading 1-0.

Morgan Rogers’ disallowed goal during Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa criticised

ไOllie Watkins was barely an inch offside in the build-up to the strike.

🧜But Watkins was deemed offside as the goal was ruled out.

Jamie O’Hara was far from happy about the decision, claiming Watkins was basically onside as Aston Villa went on to succumb to a demolition at the hands of Crystal Palace.

𝕴O’Hara remarked: “Watkins ain’t offside for me, how do you even know that the ball has left Rogers’ foot, VAR killing the game. So bad, just let them play.”

ไPerhaps if Rogers’ goal was given, the momentum would have swung in Aston Villa’s favour and they might have gone on to beat Crystal Palace.

⛦But on the balance of play, Oliver Glasner’s side did deserve the victory.

Premier League’s official explanation after disallowing Morgan Rogers goal in Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa

🧸Crystal Palace’s gameplan worked to a tee as they were clinical in the final third, defended deeply and looked lethal on the counter-attack.

𝔉A slice of fortune favoured them as Rogers’ goal was disallowed but in fairness to Palace, they capitalised on it. The Premier League Match Centre on X revealed that the sole reason why the goal was disallowed was due to Watkins being offside during the lead-up to Rogers’ strike.

𓄧“VAR recommended that Aston Villa’s goal was disallowed as Watkins was in an offside position in the build-up.”
