Jamie Carragher once compared reported Arsenal target to Patrick Vieira in 2015
🧸Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a move for Roma midfielder Steven Nzonzi, who is currently out on loan with Rennes.
ℱ, Roma are set to hold discussions in the next few days about terminating his contract.
𒉰The 32-year-old’s current loan club Rennes could be willing to offer him a permanent deal, but he will weigh up his options first about his future.
🌱The report states that Premier League duo Arsenal and Everton are both eyeing the Frenchman.
ꦇNzonzi previously spent six years in English football with Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City before joining Sevilla.
🌞He is a defensive midfielder with elite experience, including Champions League minutes this season, plus 19 senior caps for France.
﷽Jamie Carragher previously gave the midfield powerhouse huge credit by comparing him to Premier League and Arsenal great Patrick Vieira.
🔴“I think Nzonzi, he was like Patrick Vieira last season. I was surprised he was allowed to go to Seville and nobody in the Premier League took him,” Carragher said in August 2015, as relayed by

TBR’s View:
ಌAged 32, N’Zonzi is not a spring chicken anymore and he may only have one big move left in him.
♛He is a deep-lying midfielder that makes trademark tackles and interceptions with his physical presence, plus he’s confident on the ball.
♐If Arsenal can sign him on a free transfer, it wouldn’t be the worst piece of business. But it’s really not an area of the pitch they need to be focusing on.
🍬Any comparisons to Vieira seem somewhat exaggerated. There aren’t many in the history of the Premier League that comes close to his physicality, with Manchester City’s Yaya Toure perhaps the only one in the past 10 years.
