‘It was unfortunate’… Jesse Marsch says he wishes he could’ve used 25-year-old player more at Leeds
Jesse Marsch must have plenty of regrets about his time at Leeds United.
The American manager got very l𓃲ittle right during his time at Elland Road, and ultimately, he ended up getting the sack.
Speaking on the , Marsch has touched on one of his regrets at Leeds, and he says that he still thinks it’s a shame he didn’t get to use Weston McKennie more during his time as the Leeds manager.

Marsch wanted to use McKennie more
The mꦇanage💎r spoke about the 25-year-old and his spell at Elland Road.
“Everything always has to fit from different perspectives. It was what was unique when we got Weston McKennie. It wasn’t easy to pull him out of Juventus andꦡ to get him to agree to come to a club in a relegation battle, but I was really appreciative that we made that connection and he came, but it was ওunfortunate that we didn’t get to work more together,” Marsch said.
Strange
It has to be said that it’s very strange the way this all played oꦦut.
Leeds signed McKennie specifically for Marsch on deadline day, but after just one week and one sub appearance🌠, the American was sacked and the Juventus loanee was left wondering why on earth he ever came to the club.
Both Javi Gracia and Sam Allardyce then struggled to get the best out of McKennie, and while the midfielder is a figure of ridicule at Leeds these days, we mustn’t forget that he is a talented player who has made an impact at one of the biggest clubs in the world in the shape of Juventus ꧅in recent years.
Perhaps McKennie could’ve been effective at Leeds under Marsch, but, sadly, these𒉰 two barely got a chance to work෴ together.
