Ipswich favourites for loan signing of centre-back wanted by Tottenham and Leeds

TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Ipswich Town are ahead of the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United in the race to sign an “outstanding” centre-back on loan.

Ipswich have given a good account of themselves in the Premier League this season, but there’s certainly scope for reinforcements to 🐻give them🀅 a better chance of beating the drop.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements, while Leeds will want to make sure 🃏they can last the distance in the Championship promotion battle.

All three have been linked with a hig🐻hly-rated defender who has been made available by his club, and it looks like Ipswich ༒are in pole position.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Ben Godfrey seal of approval amid widespread praise

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti thought highly of Godfrey when both weꦏre at Everton.

In 2021, the Italian coach told : “If G🐽areth (Southgate, former England boss) is watching Ben Godfrey then he is right.

“Gareth doesn’t need advice from me but to see and watch Ben Godfrey at this moment, in this period, is a pleasure for any man🎃ager.

“He has surprised me﷽ because I didn’t know him so well [when he signed]. He was a signing from the club, from our scouts, and he has been really good.”

Meanwhile, in October 2022, then-Everton midfielder Alex Iwobiไ said Godfrey was the fastest𒀰 player at Goodison Park.

“Anthony (Gordon) is very rapid, you kn༺ow? He could be one of the quickest in the team,”ไ said Iwobi. “Ben is the quickest – facts. But Anthony will try and say it’s him.”

Rio Ferdinand previously described Godfrey as “absolutely ဣoutstanding”.
