‘I’ll be honest’… Former Celtic hero reacts as BBC pundit suggests there are two SPFL strikers better than Kyogo Furuhashi
Out of all the takes from Celtic’s loss to Kilmarnock, this is one that really raised my eyebrows this afternoon.
With Celtic said to be in the market for a striker and the club being mentioned in the same breath as Bojan Miovski and Lawrence Shankland, Pat Bo🎐nner was asked his thoughts on the possibility of the two SPFL strikers going to Paradise in January.
The former Celtic hero was reluctant to get drawn into the debate but did suggest that if eꦫither o𝓰f the two went to Celtic, they wouldn’t be first picks.
Bonner said [], “I don’t want to be getting accused of taking players away🌳 from other clubs.
“Listen these players have proved in this league that they ꦿcan score goals. Now, the question is, of course, if they don’t play week in week out will that take away from their game?
“Will they be happy to sit on t♈he be🦋nch and come on?”
When asked by Richard Gordon if both Bojan Miovski and Lawrence Shankland would score more goals than Kyogo Furuhashi considering the number of chances Celtic creates, Bonner replied, “🐻I’m not 100% sure I’ll be 🌌honest.
“Against packed defences and so on. I don’t know, it’s a good debate and it’s a great deb꧅ate to have.”
For me, there 🔴is simply no deb🐻ate. Kyogo Furuhashi is a far better striker than both Miovski and Shankland.

What I can’t ✤argue against is that both of them are very good players but on goalscoring ability alone Kyogo is much more accomplished.
It’s worth noting that over the past two seasons and a half seasons, Kyogo has scored ܫ62 goals.
Combined, both Miovski and Shankland have hit the back of the net 70 times but I guess an argument could🦂 be made that they could score more goals in a Celtic team. []
And that’s before we get into how clever Kyogo’s movement is and how dangerous he is with his pace. It’s not even close.
Better than Furuhashi? The Celtic fans will simply not be having that kind of talk about a player who has been ‘world-class‘ since his £4.6m move two summers ago.
