Ian Wright sends one-word message to Arsenal’s Declan Rice after scoring for England against Ireland
Declan Rice’s name has certainly been in the spotlight of late, the Arsenal midfielder has been centre of attention for both club and country.
First and foremost, Arsenal will be missing Riceꦗ in the upcoming North London derby owing to the second yellow he was controversially handed against Brighton & Hove Albion.
🧔And then Rice had the pleasure of being greeted by boos in Dublin, playing against the Republic of Ireland whom he represented at youth level.
ꦍOf course, Rice’s night in Ireland went incredibly well, scoring England’s opener and then assisting Jack Grealish, who was in the similar circumstances, for the second.
ꦜIt’s since caught the attention that Rice refused to celebrate his top-corner strike, his fourth international goal for England.
💜But after the game Rice said it was important to respect his Irish heritage – a sensible call.
Ian Wright incredibly impressed by Arsenal’s Declan Rice against Ireland
꧟As mentioned, Rice has been incredibly respectful throughout the weekend towards the Irish contingent of his family.
🌞However, the Arsenal midfielder seemingly couldn’t resist one cheeky post on Instagram on Sunday.

﷽Rice uploaded a picture with Grealish, seemingly about to board a flight back to England in preparation to face Finland on Tuesday.
❀Rice shared a caption of “in & out” – both him and Grealish had risen above the boos to secure three points.
That being said, Arsenal legend Ian Wright𒅌 left a reply saying “Mandem” with two emojis, evidently delighted that the pair were able to overcome a tricky test in style.
ꦿOf course, after watching Rice excel in a slightly more advanced role than he often played for England under Gareth Southgate, it’ll be even more frustrating for Arsenal fans to imagine a North London derby without him.
Riccardo Calafiori an injury doubt for the North London derby
✱In terms of replacing Rice against Tottenham, Riccardo Calafiori has emerged as a strong option for Mikel Arteta.
ඣCalafiori was the perfect Rice replacement for Arsenal💮, that was until he suffered an injury whilst away with Italy
ꦓJurrien Timber could have stepped into the number eight role allowing Calafiori to play at left-back, a seamless fit.
However, Calafiori is on his way back to Arsenal🌳 following his injury – neither club nor country are willing to take any chances.
𝄹And it now seems as if it will be a race against time in order to be ready for September 15th.
