Ian Wright has lauded Arsenal’s capture of Willian as a magnificent signing .
that they had signed Willian following the expiration of his contract at Chelsea earlier in the season.
The club announced that the Brazilian has signed a three-year deal at the Emirates. And Wright suggested that he is extremely happy to see the attacking midfielder move across the capital to join Arsenal.
“Of course, it is short-term. But I think, when you look at where we are at the moment, financial restraints in respect of the money that we’ve got or haven’t got, I think that it is a magnificent signing,” .
“When you look at somebody of his calibre, his last season I thought he was excellent for Chelsea. He didn’t play as often as he’d like but every time he played, he’d bring something, he’d create something.”

Willian’s form last season highlights why Wright believes that he could be an inspired signing. He scored nine Premier League goals and contributed seven assists.
Remarkably, that is, by far, his best combined return for a single league campaign since arriving in England. In fact, it proved to be his most prolific season for goals, while he has never provided more assists in the top flight.
That suggests that he is far from being done in the Premier League.
Of course, there may be concerns about how long he has left at his peak. But if he replicates anything like last season’s form for Mikel Arteta’s side, it will not take too long for his move to look like a masterstroke.
