Leeds owner over the summer that he had ‘one regret’ – and this was not signing De Ketelaere.

Radrizzani said: “I have one regret, I should have gone 10 days before to Belgium to close the deal.

“We had a period of time that I knew Milan were slipping because of the change of ownership and I hesitated maybe a week or 10 days more, when I should have gone a little earlier.”

But the Belgian midfielder did eventually make the switch from Club Brugge to Milan. And now Ferdinand has made a claim about him on BT Sport.

Ferdinand makes claim about De Ketelaere

Speaking before Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Milan last night, Ferdinand heaped praise on to De Ketelaere and said he was surprised to see no English clubs trying to sign him.

“De Ketelaere, he’s a very talented young man. I was surprised no English club came in for him.” .

Indeed, Ferdinand must not be aware that his former club tried to sign the midfielder over the summer.

Club Brugge’s CEO Vincent Mannaert recently revealed that Leeds were ready to break their transfer record for De Ketelaere over the summer.

The Belgian international has got off to a difficult start in Milan and has only started four games for Stefano Pioli’s men. He’s come on as a substitute seven times and registered one assist in 11 appearances.

Leeds will be hoping that De Ketelaere doesn’t turn out to be one that got away. Radrizzani revealed that the Whites had even agreed a deal with Club Brugge, but the player himself had not yet been convinced by the move.

Jesse Marsch’s side are fairing pretty well without the talented youngster at this moment in time. Leeds currently sit twelfth in the Premier League table after a stop-start beginning to the season due to games being postponed last month.
