Gary Lineker names the key reason why Tottenham could actually beat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final
Tottenham’s recent form under Ange Postecoglou might be really poor but former striker Gary Lineker has come up with a theory on why they might actually make it into the Carabao Cup final.
Spurs take on Liverpool for a place in the first showpiece final of the season, with just two games between both sides and a tr🦋ip to Wembley.
With the Totte♒nham players still behind manager Ange Postecoglou, a trip to a cup fina𝓰l and the chance to finally win some silverware could be a saving grace for the whole club this season.
Of course, with Liverpool in such fine f🤡orm, Spurs go into the two-legged affair as firm underdog🦹s.
However, according to Gary Lineker, things might not be quite as cut and dry as ♈they f🧔irst seem when it comes to the result.

Gary Lineker says why Tottenham could beat Liverpool over two legs
Speaking on the latest episode of the , Lineker was discussing the importance of the upcoming games for Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou.
However, despite things looking a bit glum for Spurs, Lineker believes Liverpool’s focus on 🍨the league could help Postecoglou’s side win out.
“Particularly, probably the cup game because it’s bee🀅n so long si🅺nce Spurs have won something. It’s hard to see him getting past Liverpool. The only thing I would say is that Liverpool will probably rest quite a few,” Lineker said.
“I know it sounds mad in a semi-final, but there’s Champions League games coming up, although they’re in pretty good shape there. But with them being so far ahead in the league, that would take absolute priority fo▨r Liverpool.
“So I’d be surprised if they❀ didn’t m🐈ix it up a little bit, which might help the chances of Spurs.”
Tottenham cup win could save Postecoglou’s job
Regardless of the board and fans being c💮ontent with Postecoglou and the fact there’s plenty of injuries at the club, it’s a results business and the pressure is on now.
Winning the League Cup could well beไ something that saves the Tottenham boss here. For all the talk of ge♌tting into the top four, Tottenham fans crave a trophy.
Lineker has a valid enough point about Liverpo🅘ol but on the flipside, the reserves of the Reds like Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones and Conor Bradley, would all walk into the Spurs side.
With that in mind, the task for Tottenham remains as hard as eꦿver.
