‘I don’t understand’… Pundit says Celtic coach should have told Brendan Rodgers £3.75m player is not good enough

With Celtic said to be looking to reduce the size of the squad in the coming transfer window, Brendan Rodgers will look to get players out who have not been contributing this season.

TBR Celtic told yesterday how the club are blowing over £100k per week o⛎n players who are either not contributing or are pe༒rforming poorly.

One of those players is Alexandro Bernabei. Signed for £3.75m from Lanus last summer, the Argentine has failed to oust Greg Taylor from the left fullback position.

In fact, under Brendan Rodgers, he has barely featured and after the Celtic manager recently played Anthony Ralston in his position, it looks like Rodgers has made🐟 his mind up about the 23-year-🐼old defender.

But that deci🎀sion cou💎ld, and probably should, have been made sooner. That’s according to Stephen McGinn.

The Falkirk midfielder and radio pundit says Rodgers should have been told by the coaching team at Celtic thatꦕ he wasn’t good eno♒ugh when he first came to the club and made moves then to get him out of the club.

McGinn said [], “The team selection isn’t making sense at the 𒆙minute. It isn’t consistent.

“I don’t understand why guys like John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan who have been part of the last four or five years how can they not say to Brendan Rodgers Bernabei will never be good enough.”

Alexandro Bernabei must leave Celtic

It is pretty clear that he doesn’t have a future✤ at Celtic. Under Rodgers Bernabei has made just appearances with all of them from the bench. He’s racked up just 71 minutes of football this season.

Even under Ange Postecoglou Bernabei was used sparingly. Out of the 19 appea✃rances he made last season, the Argentine ma꧂de the starting eleven on twelve occasions but mainly in games that had no significance or importance. []

Bernabei has had issues settling into Glasgow and when Rodgers first arrived at Celtic he didn’t get off to the best start after sleeping in for a team meeting.

It looks like he is set to leave Glasgow soon with Italy being his preferred destination. Let’s hope his s🅠ituation is sorted out sooner rather than later.
