‘I don’t think he will’: Pundit thinks £180k-a-week Liverpool ace won’t start this weekend

Liverpool boast one of the best attacking tri🦄dents in world football, with Sadio Mane, 💟Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah tearing defences apart time and time again.

However, there could potentially be a changing of the guard taking place, with one of the above three currently out of form and an ꦅAnfield newcomer staking his claim for a first-team place in the best possible way.

Diogo J🅺ota joined Liverpool in September, reporting that he had penned a five-year deal at Anfield following his £41🐼million switch from Wolves.

Jota has made 1♈0 appearances for the Reds to date and has scored seven goals, including a Champi😼ons League hat-trick on Tuesday night as Atalanta were beaten 5-0 on their own patch.

In contrast, Fi♏rmino has scored just one goal all season, and his overall tally in all competition this term reads 11 games, one goal and two assists.

Former Premier League sওtriker John Aloisi believes that Jurgen Klopp will opt for Jota over Firmino in the crunch clash against Manchester 🐟City at the weekend.

“The way he is scoring goals, linking up with his teammates around him, he has just got so much pace about him as well,” 💖Aloisi told after the midweek win.

“I think that’s what suited him today, Atalanta played that open expan🤪sive style so he was able to get on the end of things and find that space. I think he 𒐪will start Jota against City.

“I think Klopp will see how well he’s doing and the form he’s in and play himꩲ in this game. Let’s not underrate Firmino and what he can bring to the side, but I don🔜’t think he will start him against City.”

TBR View:

Firmino is without a doubt a player of the highest quality and continues to be an amazing servant for Liverpool, but at the end of the day, if he’s out of form and another player is in the form of his life, it’s the logical choice🔜.

The ace could potentially do with a rest, but he’s sure to keep working hard on the training ground to 💧give Klopp a selection headache, which of course will𒉰 be of benefit to the team in their quest for more silverware.
