How much Nottingham Forest are ready to pay Santiago Gimenez per week with £29m transfer nearly complete
Nottingham Forest are closing in on a deal for Santiago Gimenez and they are ready to hand the Feyenoord striker a huge wage.
Nottingham Forest have been in the market for a new centre-forward this summer and they are set to get a deal over the line with just five days of the transfer window remaining.
Forest submitted a bid for Santiago Gimenez earlier this summer with Feyenoord holding out for a club-record fee of around £30million.
They had also identified Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah as a target but Forest’s move for Nketiah collapsed and Santiago Gimenez is now their top target.
Crystal Palace have now moved for Nketiah while West Ham are also considering a move for the Gunners forward.
As for Gimenez, his move to the City Ground is inching closer and reports from the Netherlands suggest he is set for a big pay rise.

Santiago Gimenez wage at Nottingham Forest
The reason behind Nketiah’s failed move to Forest was personal terms, with the 25-year-old demanding a substantial wage package.
Dutch outlet report that Nketiah wanted £120,000 per week to join Forest – demands that the club were not willing to meet.
They add that Gimenez’s wage demands are slightly less, but the Mexico international is still set to earn £100,000 per week in the Premier League.
A private jet is ready at Rotterdam Airport to fly Gimenez to England to undergo a medical ahead of a five-year contract being signed.
1908 adds that Feyenoord will earn a fixed fee of 35million Euros (£29million) for Gimenez.
An expensive risk for Nottingham Forest
Forest are taking a risk on Gimenez, but Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are crying out for a new centre-forward.

However, having ended last season with 26 goals – and having scored four already this season – Gimenez has the potential to be a huge success for Forest.
He will join as one of the club’s top earners on a wage of £100,000 per week, but he could also become a key player if he continues his form from the Eredivisie.
