How much Liverpool could now pay to sign Florian Wirtz as Bayer Leverkusen could give them a big discount

If Liverpool manage to sign Florian Wirtz, it’s safe to say that he would be a prime candidate to be crowned the signing of the summer.

The German international is one of the best players in the world and based on his track record in the Bundesliga as well as the Champions League, the 21-year-old could take the Premier League by storm.

With Liverpool lacking a world-class number 10 in their ranks, a player like Florian Wirtz has the potential to turn the Premier League champions into an even more devastating force.’

Wirtz looks set to join Liverpool after declining possible moves to both Bayern Munich and Manchester City — as the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder’s willingness to play under Arne Slot is another factor that could enhance his displays.

With Liverpool edging towards signing Jeremie Frimpong as well, the youngster could find it easy to settle in England due to the presence of the former City academy graduate.

Liverpool could pay £109 million to seal Florian Wirtz signing

All the signs suggest that Wirtz could become an instant fan favourite at Anfield.

The fact that Liverpool could spend big to sign Wirtz and have not baulked at an asking price of £126 million goes to show how highly they rate him.

However, Jan Aage Fjørtoft has told ESPN FC that Bayer Leverkusen are prepared to do a deal for £110 million after Arne Slot green-lighted Wirtz’s move to Liverpool: “They put a price tag on him, Leverkusen, the owners of Bayer Leverkusen, €150 million (£126.9 million) that was as a signal to Bayern Munich saying this will be expensive for you guys.”

“For Liverpool, the price will go down a bit, what I’ve been told now is that it will be around €125 million (£104.9 million) or €130m (£109.1 million), which is about £110 million, they won’t get him cheap but they will get him cheaper.”

When Liverpool could complete Wirtz signing

Initially, Bayern Munich seemed set to sign Wirtz but it seems like Bayer Leverkusen were ready to make it difficult for their domestic rivals to sign the jewel in their crown.

Arne Slot’s side seemed to have capitalised on a potentially once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sign a truly elite player.

Liverpool could sign Wirtz by Monday as they are keen to complete a deal as soon as possible.
