‘He’s not the tallest’… Pundit says £17m Tottenham player was targeted on Saturday because of his height
Tottenham drew with Everton this weekend, and, as you can imagine, Everton tried to beat Spurs via a barrage of set-pieces.
Both of the Toffees goals came from dead-ball situations, and it’s fair to say that Guglielmo Vicario didn’t have his best day.
Indeed, the Italian struggled with these deliveries all day long, and speaking on , Don Hutchison has outlined some of the Italian’s issues.
The pundit reckons that Vicario was purposefully targeted against Everton, claiming that the Italian’s lack of height between the sticks was something Sean Dyche will have tried to exploit.

Guglielmo Vicario’s lack of height exploited
Hutchison shared his analysis of this weekend’s game and the man.
“Nor for me, I’ve heard phrases like manhandling or a push, he just leans into Vicario, two things have to happen, Vicario has to be stronger or he has to put a defender between himself. It’s obviously a gameplan because he’s not the tallest, so why not try to exploit that,” Hutchison said.
Seriously?
Vicario wasn’t strong enough between the sticks at the weekend, but we refuse to believe that his lack of height was an issue.
According to the Premier League website, Vicario stands at 6 ft 4, be’s not exactly a short goalkeeper is he?
The main problem here was that he wasn’t strong enough and that he wasn’t commanding enough. He didn’t claim these balls with any sort of authority, but if he acted a bit more emphatically, this wouldn’t have been an issue, and at that sort of height, it’s impossible to exploit him for his size.
Vicario has been fantastic all season long, but there are a few cracks beginning to show in terms of how he deals with set plays.
Tottenham need to figure this out, or else this weakness will continue to be exploited.
