‘He’s a lovely guy’… Joelinton says he would like £38m Real Madrid player sign for Newcastle

Newcastle fans were dreaming big when they became the richest club in the world a couple of years ago.

Indeed, after the takeover was announced there were rumours of the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale all coming to St James’ Park.

However, we’re yet to see a true superstar signing from the Magpies since the takeover, but if Joelinton had it his way, one of the biggest names in world football would be headed to the Toon.

Indeed, speaking to , Joelinton has named Real Madrid’s Vincius Jr as one of his dream signings at Newcastle.

Joelinton would like Vinicius Jr at Newcastle

The midfielder spoke about his international teammate.

“In terms of Brazilian teammates who aren’t at Newcastle, which one would you most like to join you?” Guimaraes was asked.

“That is a tough question, Paqueta or Vinicius Jr he’s a lovely guy as well,” Joelinton said.

More than a lovely guy

As nice as it is to hear that Joelinton thinks that Vincius Jr has a great personality, his footballing ability is probably more important than the fact he’s his friend.

Indeed, Vinicius Jr is more than just a nice guy. He’s a world-class talent who would immediately be one of the Premier League’s best players if he arrived at a club like Newcastle.

Unfortunately for the Magpies, even with all the money they have, this is an unrealistic prospect.

Real Madrid have never been in the business of selling their best players, and Vincius is truly untouchable for the Spanish giants.

As much as we’d love to see the winger arrive in England and tear up the Premier League, it’s hard to imagine that we’ll ever see his talents grace these shores.

We can absolutely understand why Vinicius Jr would be a dream signing for Joelinton or any Newcastle fan for that matter.
