Henrik Larsson shares where his Celtic team would’ve finished in the English Premier League

Celtic have had some incredible teams in recent history.

From Brendan Rodgers’ Invincibles to Ange Postecoglou’s treble-winners, Celtic have had some fantastic teams.

However, perhaps the best Celtic team in modern memory was Martin O’Neill’s side in the early 2000s.

O’Neill’s side were UEFA Cup finalists in 2003, and they boasted some genuinely world-class talents at the time.

Speaking on , Henrik Larsson has been reminiscing about his Celtic side, and he was asked where he thinks they would’ve finished if they had played in the English Premier League.

Interestingly, Larsson stated that he thinks his Celtic side were good enough for a top four finish in England.

Henrik Larsson says Celtic would’ve finished top four

Larsson spoke about his Celtic team.

“How do you the squad you had would’ve competed in the English Premier League,” Larsson was asked.

“Top four without a doubt. I think we were a very good side. I’m saying top four to be a bit humble because I know how the reaction is going to be and I’m not up for that,” Larsson said.

Henrik Larsson’s Celtic were incredible

It would’ve been very interesting to see that Celtic team have a season in the Premier League, because they were an incredible side.

You have to be a special team to reach a European final, and Celtic did dump out the likes of Blackburn Rovers and Liverpool on their way to Seville back in 2003.

Of course, playing a full league season at that sort of standard isn’t easy, but these marquee European victories did show that Celtic could’ve held their own against the best of the best.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see this Celtic side play against England’s top clubs on a regular basis, but, if they did, they would’ve given anyone a serious run for their money.
