‘He works really hard’: Harry Kane says ‘great’ player Tottenham sold two years ago has been brilliant since

Tottenham Hotspur sold Kyle Walker-Peters to Southampton two years ago and Harry Kane has been keeping an eye on the talented full-back.
The Englishman joined Spurs back in 2013, when he was just 16 years old. He developed in their youth setup, became a quality player, and even earned the Man of the Match award on his full Premier League debut against Newcastle United back in the 2017/18 season.
He only played 24 times for Tottenham in total before going out on loan to Southampton in January 2020. That deal was made permanent in the summer and Walker-Peters has become a brilliant player for the Saints.
The 24-year-old has now received an England call-up as well, which is fully deserved.
Harry Kane: Kyle Walker-Peters has done well since leaving Tottenham
England captain Harry Kane met up with all the lads in training ahead of the Three Lions’ games against Switzerland and the Ivory Coast in the coming days.
He was asked about players like Walker-Peters who have been called up for the very first time, and he had nothing but good things to say about the Southampton man.
Kane said, as per : “It is great to have new faces in the squad, young faces, I feel like I am getting older and older by the day.
“It is great to see them. I obviously know Kyle [Walker-Peters] from when he was at Spurs, he is a great lad, he works really hard and he has done really well at Southampton.”

TBR View:
Kyle Walker-Peters has been really good for Southampton under Ralph Hasenhuttl, especially this season.
The 24-year-old is naturally a right-back but his brilliant performances this season have all come on the opposite side. 20 of the 27 games he’s played this season have come at left full-back and he has hardly looked out of place.
Still only 24, Walker-Peters has a lot of time and space for improvement and he could become a top player in either full-back position in the very near future.
Tottenham really do need a new right-back this summer and Walker-Peters wouldn’t be a bad option by any means.
