He is the ‘sublime’ £7.5m talent who Ian Wright said was the best player he ever played alongside at Arsenal
In total Ian Wright made 288 appearances for Arsenal, winning the 97/98 league title alongside three domestic cups.
Wright will always be remembered as an Arsenal icon, a striker wh﷽o found the back of the net a remarkable 185 times whilst wearing red.
Of course, Wright played alongside some ridiculous talenღts during his time at Highbury under four different managers, including both George Graham anꦉd Arsene Wenger.
The Englishman was often pitted alongside the late Kevin Campbell and also Alan Smith, two prolific strikers he partnered more than 100 t🦹imes🐟 each.
Although, it was a different Arsenal forward who Wright named as the bes♔t player he’s ever been on a team with when writing👍 for back in 2016.
Ian Wright explains why Dennis Bergkamp was his best ever teammate
Wright published his perfect XI from players worldw𒈔ide, naturally including a few Gunners.
And when it came to Dennis Bergkamp, Wright declared that the💜 Dutchman was actually the most gifted player he ever played al𓃲ongside.

Arsenal signed Bergkamp back in 1995 for a club record fee of under Bruce Rioch,𝔉 a deal which certainly proved to be good value.
And in his perfect XI, Wright chose to put Bergkamp alongside Alan Shearer in a 4ꩵ-4-2 and explained why it was impossible to leave out his ‘sublime’ former tea꧋mmate.
Wright wr📖ote: “An amazing player with sublime skill; comfortably the best I’ve plaܫyed with.
“Not only did he score brilliant goals, but𝔍 when he playe🃏d, those around him scored more.
“Him ღand Shearer up front would make a fantastic partnership.”
Ian Wright includes three other Arsenal players in perfect XI
In terms of other Arsenal players Wright included, David Seaman was in net, ahead of a back four that was strengthened by Ton♐y Adam’s leadership.
Elsewhere, Patrick Vieira was put alongside Roy Keane in midfield – a partnership whi෴ch would have certainly ruffled a few feathers.
And otherwise, Wright didn’t put any other former Gunners in his perfect XI which included the likes of Pa🌱olo Maldini and Zinedine Zidane – players it’s almost impossible to 🦄omit.
In total, Wright and Bergkam༒p were said to have played together 82 times at Arsenal, yielding 22 joint goal involvements.
And in an era in which Arsenal are lacking a goalscorer, the duo of that talent would be more than welcome at the Emirꦍates Stadium today.
