‘He is faster’… Micky van de Ven admits £27m Arsenal player is actually quicker than hm
Top centre-backs in the Premier League are all incredibly fast.
The likes of Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Sven Botman are all real speedsters, while Tottenham and Arsenal both boast very fast defenders.
Indeed, both Micky Van de Ven and William Saliba are fantastic athletes, and speaking on the , Van de Ven has been discussing his Arsenal counter-part.
Van de Ven was playing a game where he had to guess whether some of his peers had a higher or lower pace rating on the new EA FC game, and he predicted that the Frenchman would actually be faster than him on the game.
Van de Ven says Saliba is faster
The defender spoke about the Arsenal ace.
“William Saliba?” Van de Ven was asked.
“I think he is faster,” Van de Ven said.
“No, you’re being very humble, you’re faster,” Van de Ven was told.
Both rapid
Arsenal and Tottenham are both very lucky to have Saliba and Van de Ven at the hearts of their defence.
These two are utterly brilliant as defenders.
Not only are they both absolutely rapid, they’re incredibly strong and they read the game so well too.
Indeed, these are two absolute Rolls Royces at centre-back, and they’ve played huge parts in their teams respective successes this term.
As for who is faster, it’s hard to really tell as Saliba never seems to be running at 100%, but we do have to say that Van de Ven’s recovery pace is unlike anything else we’ve ever seen in the Premier League.
