Harry Maguire names the five Man Utd players who are genuine leaders in the squad now
Manchester United aren’t having an easy time of it at the moment.
The 🍷Red Devils were, once again, shaky in midweek as they j📖ust managed to get past Ipswich Town in a 3-2 win.
United are firmly in the bottom-half of the Premier League🎀, and, barring a minor miracle, are set to record their worst Premier League finish ever.
Speaking to the BBC Radio Five Live Football Daily Podcast, Harry Maguire has been discussing United’s current situation and the comp꧒ositio꧋n of the team.
Maguire was asked about the leadership at Manchester United within the squad, and the centre-back named five players in the United dressing room who he believes are g𒐪enuine leaders.

Manchester United have five genuine leaders
Maguire spoke about United’s leadership group.
Bruno Fernandes has been questioned as a leader in recent times, but according to Maguire, the Portuguese midfielde༒r is a great ꦺleader.
Meanwhile, Casemiro was linked 𒊎with a move away in January, but according to Maguire, the midfielder is also a great leader.
Maguire also named himself, Tom Heaton and Jonny Evans as great leaders💙 in the🤡 squad.
“He’s (Fernandes) a fantastic player and a great lad to have🌄 in the dressing room. So, yeah, we have a good relationship,” Maguire said.
“When♛ the manager came in, he talked about needing more leaders, people to step up. Who are the leaders in th🅘is squad?” Maguire was asked..
I think we have a lot of leaders. I think obviously we’ve got Casemiro, won everything. Gr♑eat leader, good attitude,” Maguire said.
“B🍬runo himself, myself, we have a lot of senior players, Tom Heaton, Jonny Evans. We have a lot of senior players who has won a lot of things at the moment. We know it’s a difficult period and that’s when we, as senior and older players, we’ve got to take the responsibility on and step up.”
Manchester United’s next crop of leaders
Maguire named fi🦩ve strong leaders in this United squad at the moment, but there could soon be a leadership vacuum at Old Trafford.
Indeed, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton 🌃are both in their late 30s, so they may not be at Old Trafford for much longer.
Meanwhile, Casemiro has been constantly linked🌳♐ with a move to Saudi Arabia, so a summer move could be on the cards.
That just le😼aves Fernandes and Maguire as the strong leaders in the United squad, and even then, you have one player who was stripped of the captaincy and another player whose leadership has been consistently questioned.
Luckily, United have a couple of players who could step into thos🌱e leadership roles.
Lisandro Martinez’s leadership has been praised by Amad Diallo in the past,🍃 meanwhile, Matthijs De Ligt has been the captain of Ajax in the past, so he has plenty of experience leading at a biꦚg club.
United’s leaders need to step up next season, that’s ▨for surꩲe.
