‘Great to see’: Michael Owen and Paul Ince rave about Liverpool player
Michael Owen and Paul Ince h🦹ave both heaped huge praise o💜n Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane during their analysis with P – applauding the Reds ace for staying on his feet against Wolves.
Liverpool earned a 1-0 win💦 thanks to Diogo Jota’s second-half strike that sneaked 🐽past Rui Patricio at the near post. It was an excellent goal, that saw Mo Salah find Mane – who flicked a brilliant pass into the path of Jota, allowing him to take it first time.
Mane, 28, took his goal involvements to 18 in 37 games with the assist – though it was his first in his last seven Premier League games. The combination between the trio was a br🃏ief sign that Liverpool might finally get back, firing on all c🌳ylinders in attack.
But it was a moment in the first half that Owen and Ince praised. Mane went round Patricio and desp💃ite there being contact, he stayed on his feet – and both Owen and Ince have praised the attacker for his honesty.

“He decides to go round the goalkeeper, but stays on his feet,” Owen said. “We see strikers go down to easily, Rui Patricio touches Mane and he has every right to♌ go down. It is only right t💃hat when we criticise attackers for going down, they deserve praise too.
“There have been a few instances of Mane stating on his feet – we have to applaud that. One against Sheffield United𝔍, one against Chelsea – he has been guilty of going down easily in the past.🍷 Sometimes, they deserve praise – Mane is being very honest.
Ince continued: “Mic🌄hael is right, Mane is being ཧvery honest. It has got to be clear and obvious, we don’t want players going over and diving. Mane has been criticised in the past, but it is great to see him stay on his feet and try to score.”

TBR’s view – Is it to Liverpool’s advantage, or detriment?
The modern game has shown, p📖articularly this season, that attacking players need to go down for the ref to m💮ake a decision – or for VAR to look at the incident. It suggests Mane staying on his feet removes the chances of Liverpool getting a penalty.
But could Mane being honest help Liverpool in the long run? On the other side of Liverpool’s attack, Salah has become no൩torious as one of the biggest diving merchants in the League. That reputation means when he goes down, and a referee think he is diving.
So, Mane staying on his feet could mean that when he does go down – referees are con💙vinced he is being honest.
