Graham Potter shares the ‘exciting’ stat Ruben Amorim has to look forward to at Manchester United
Graham Potter is a man who knows the rigours of being a Premier League manager and he feels there’s one thing at Manchester United that should excite new manager, Ruben Amorim.
Amorim is due to take over at Old Trafford in the next few weeks and it remains to be seen if Ruud van Nistelrooy will remain as part of the club.
For Amorim, it’s going to be about ⛄being given time to implement his own stꩵyle and method on the club and players.
Of course, Amorim will likely want some of his own p🦄layers brought in to help tha♛t, but he knows full well he’ll also have to get the best out of the current United squad.
United currently sit 13th in the table after today’s 1-1 draw with Chel♊sea, with just nine goals scored.
However, despite the lack of goals, United aren’t short on creating chances and according to Graham Potter, that’s something Amorim will be encouraged by.

Graham Potter says why Ruben Amorim will be excited by Manchester United attack
Speaking to about the positives for Amorim in taking over at United, former Chelsea boss Potter believes the amount of chances they create should b𒉰e seen as a good thing.
“It is exciting for him. If he looks at the data it will show Man Utd have missed a lot of chances and when you get on the right side of that the goals are going in and it doesn’t ta🔯ke a lot to turn things around positively,” Potter said.
“The bounces ne🌌ed to sustain itself to꧙ compete at the top of the Premier League. They need to get away from bounces and go to small progressions.”
United must start to convert chances or write off another season
It’s all well an🍎d good creating good opportunities in games but at the end of the day,𝐆 you have to finish them off to succeed.
United’s nine goals this season is an abysmal return really, es🐠pecially when they sit fifth in the table when it comes to big chances created.
United have created 26 big chances, just fo꧟ur less than league leaders Liverpool. However, Liver𓂃pool have converted 19 goals to United’s nine, while Man City have 21 from even less big chances created.
Team | Big chances created | Premier League goals scored |
Liverpool | 30 | 19 |
Aston Villa | 29 | 17 |
Arsenal | 28 | 17 |
Chelsea | 28 | 20 |
Man United | 26 | 9 |
Clearl꧒y, then, United and Amorim have got to start getting the team to a point wh⛦ere chance conversion is higher.
However, Potter is right and in terms of encouraging 💃signs, it is something the new boss will look to as♓ a positive.
