Gabriel Agbonlahor thinks Aston Villa have just made a fantastic signing
Gabriel Agbonlahor has now said that he thinks Aston Villa have made a tremendous signing.
The Villans have been the busiest Premier League side in terms of recruitment so far this summer, bringing the likes of Ross Barkley, Jaden Philogene, Cameron Archer, Ian Maatsen, Enzo Barrenechea, Samuel Iling-Junior, Lewis Dobbin and Amadou Onana to Villa Park.
Now, Gabriel Agbonlahor has shared how he thinks the latter will fare for Aston Villa…
Gabriel Agbonlahor shares verdict on Amadou Onana
It is safe to say that the 37-year-old thinks the Belgium international will be a star und📖er Unai Emery.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor : “Onana is totally different to Douglas Luiz, totally different sor🥃t of midfielder. He is just in there, solid as a rock, try and get past me if you dare, you are going down with an injury, you are going down with a blow to the face, you are not getting past me in there, and I can play. I am not just a big defen🐼sive midfielder in that position, I can get the ball, I can play, I can make it tick.
“He can get forward as wel♓l, he is strong at running with the ball, he is only 22. We forget that sometimes because it feels like he has been at Everton for five, six years. He has been at Everton for two years. 17 games for Belgium, still learning his trade, he is going to get better and better. And playing for a manager, no offence to Sean Dyche, done very well for Everton, but going from Sean Dyche to a manager l🐻ike Unai Emery, he is going to get so much more out of his game.”

Aston Villa have spent £50m on the Belgian – which ꦛmakes it just shy of being a record deal for the🅺 Villans.
The £51.9m signing of Moussa Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen in July 2023 remains Aston Villa’s clu൩b-record signing.
On the topic of Di💮aby, he is set to lea꧋ve Aston Villa to join Al-Ittihad in a £50m move af🔯ter just one season in the Midlands.
Aston Villa will be a force next season
It was obviously disappointing for Emery to lose Luiz – who impressively scored ten goals and provided ten assists in 53 appearances last seasℱon.

However, in Onana, the Spaniard now has a seriouꦏsly formidable presence in the heart of midfield, who can easily overpower opponents in a physical sense, which shoཧuld ensure the likes of John McGinn and Youri Tielemans see more of the ball next season.

The towering 6ft 5in Belgian can also use his feet well too – as Agbonlahor states – and at the age of just 22, Aston Villa could soon have one of Europe’s best midfielders on their hands if he fulfils his im๊mense potential.
