Gabriel Agbonlahor amazed by what Celtic fans were saying to him during Rangers match after attending Parkhead

Celtic made it four wins from four in the Scottish Premiership last time out in the Old Firm derby with Rangers, as Brendan Rodgers’ side secured a 3-0 win.

Brendan Rodgers has got his Celtic side playing some really attractive football and the early signs are good for yet another league triumph at Parkhead.

The Bhoys are yet to even concede a goal in the league this season and already have 12 goals in the for column.

It was a busy summer transfer window for the Scottish giants as they welcomed eight faces to the club, with the permanent signing of Adam Idah, Kasper Schmeichel and Arne Engels the highlights.

However, it was the signing of Alex Valle that really delighted Brendan Rodgers who stated that he’ll compliment their attacking play.

Celtic’s attacking qualities were on full show against Rangers last time out, and Gabriel Agbonlahor was at the game and has revealed one surprising thing he noticed…

Gabriel Agbonlahor reveals what Celtic fans told him at Parkhead during Rangers match

Daizen Maeda, Kyogo Furuhashi and Callum McGregor bagged the goals in the Old Firm.

It was 53% to Celtic and 14 shots to 13 in the Bhoys’ favour but that doesn’t tell the story of what went on at Parkhead, with the Scottish champions dominating for large parts.

And, Gabriel Agbonlahor has now revealed on what a Celtic fan told him during the match, which left him shocked.

“Jim, in the stadium I’ve never had a feeling like that before when it felt that every fan in there was waiting for the goal to come.

“And once it come and it was disallowed it was like don’t worry it’s coming again. Even the people around me were like don’t worry it’s coming Gab, it’s gonna be 3 or 4 in this game.

“The whole stadium knew the difference, and watching the whole game Rangers done good for 10 minutes but apart from that Celtic blew them away”.

What has Graeme Souness said?

Graeme Souness has been in the media recently for his comments that he made on about the gap between Celtic and Rangers.

“Keep believing. It can change very quickly. I didn’t see Jack Butland making save after save after save. I will keep defending this until I’m blue in the face.

“I didn’t think we got absolutely battered yesterday. No-one is telling me Celtic stopped at 3-0 yesterday. If they could have, they would have looked to get five or six.

“Yeah, we were short yesterday. We’ve been short for years. But I didn’t see a game yesterday that was so one-sided I was embarrassed.

“The gap is there but it is not insurmountable. It might be three players, it might be four players. If someone was to say to the manager ‘there’s £50million’ it would change, if he got lucky and bought the right players.

“When both teams were doing nine-in-a-row the opposition would have thought ‘this is never going to change’. This will change”.

It seems as if a number of pundits don’t quite agree with what went on during the Old Firm.

The stats don’t actually look too bad but going off Agbonlahor’s experience of actually being there, it appears as if it was a totally different story.
