Fulham youngster Tayo Edun is set to star in the Championship for Ipswich

💞On Friday, Ipswich Town confirmed the signing of 20-year-old Fulham midfielder Tayo Edun on a season-long loan.

♈The England youth international has shown his brilliance in glimpses with the Cottagers’ first team, and a loan in the second division is the perfect opportunity for Edun to gain vital experience.

ꦚThe London-born Edun has made seven first team appearances for Fulham and is considered one of the club’s brightest talents. The youngster has also featured heavily in the England youth set-up, most notably winning the U-19 European Championships in 2017.

🍰With Fulham, he made his league debut in a November 2017 league match against Derby County, where Edun impressed in central midfield with a superb performance full of neat touches, intelligent passes, and good close control.

🌟Following his performance against Derby, he was lathered with  by manager Slavisa Jokanovic, who said Edun played hard and well.

“We gave a debut to one English international young player, who is European champion with England and he is good news for England and good news for Fulham academy.”

ꦅJust a week later, Edun made his second Championship appearance when he came on as a substitute against Millwall. He showed his class with an impressive pass in that match which released Ryan Sessegnon, and held firm in midfield to secure a 1-0 victory in the midst of a late onslaught.

🍰Although that match in November marked his final contribution of the season with the first team, Edun revealed his immense potential during that crucial fall period.

🌃As Fulham are now in the Premier League, the 20-year-old would find playing opportunities few and far between, so a move to Ipswich is a sensible decision.

🌠With crucial first team minutes under his belt at Portman Road, the intelligent central midfielder (who can also play as a left back) will offer his skills to Ipswich and return to Craven Cottage a more complete player.

𒁃Tayo Edun’s loan to Ipswich is a fantastic move that will benefit all parties involved, boosting the Championship side’s squad while furthering Edun’s development.
