‘Frontrunners’: Newcastle are one of the favourites to sign £15m player now – journalist

Newcastle United’s transfer window hasn’t been all that exciting so far.

The Magpies have signed the likes of Lloyd Kelly, John Ruddy 🍎and Odysseas Vlachodimos, but it’s hard to say that any of those signings are needle-movers.

Luckily, there’s still a long way to go in this transfer wi𓄧ndow, and Newcastle can still bring in some more exciting additions.

Speaking on NUFC Matters, Ben Jacobs has been discussing Newcastle’s transfer plans for the rest of the summer, and he’s named Anthony Elanga as a p🍷l♓ayer Newcastle could go for, claiming that the Tyneside club are one of the frontrunners to sign the winger.

Newcastle one of the favourites to sign Anthony Elanga

Jacobs spoke abo🌱ut Elanga and Newcastle’s intere🎶st.

“Elanga will be in demand and at the moment it’s fair to say that Ne💜wcastle are one of the frontrunners. The challenge is tha𝓰t before PSR they were leveraging Elliot Anderson and Forest were having none of it,” Jacobs said.

“The Forest po𝓰sition remains that they want to hold onto Elanga and only ꧟a big offer will change that.”

Elanga would suit Eddie Howe

Anthony ꧙Elanga may not be the biggest-name signing Newcastle ever make, but the man couldꦑ be perfectly suited to Eddie Howe.

An energetic and pacy winger wh🎃o always works his socks off, Elanga could be absolutely brilliantꦆ under Howe.

Elanga and Anthony Gordon on opposite wings is a frightening prospect, while thꦬe former Manchester United man will surely relish the chance to unite with his fellow countryman, Alexander Isak, at club level too.

As Jacobs says, Forest want to keep Elanga, but given Newcastle’s ambition and financial strength, the attacker’s head could🔯 be turned by the idea of moving to St James’ Park and working with a manager w𒁏hose style would suit him down to the ground.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on.
