Fabrizio Romano shares what he’s heard directly from Arsenal about Fabian Ruiz

Fabian Ruiz is said to be someone Arsenal are interested in this summer, with discussions over a loan deal said to be underway.

Indeed, Arsenal are said to be in talks over signing Fabian Ruiz on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy the player next summer.

The Spaniard was brilliant at Euro 2024, and with Joao Neves expected to arrive at PSG in the coming days, his gametime in Paris may be reduced next season.

Arsenal are said to be looking to take advantage of this situation.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Ruiz and Arsenal’s interest, and he’s shared a different angle on this story.

According to Romano, , no formal operation has started for Ruiz to move to Arsenal, with the journalist claiming that Arsenal, PSG and the player’s camp are all telling the same story here.

Fabian Ruiz to Arsenal isn’t advanced yet

According to Romano this deal isn’t advanced quite yet.

“I see questions on Fabian Ruiz. At the moment guys what I can guarantee is that no formal operation has started for Fabian Ruiz. This is the version of all parties involved, Arsenal, PSG and player’s side. There is nothing concrete in terms of negotiations,” Romano said.

Arsenal set to sign a Spanish midfielder

Fabian Ruiz to Arsenal may not be advanced at this point, but regardless of what happens, it would be a surprise if Arsenal didn’t sign a Spanish midfielder this summer.

Indeed, even if this Ruiz deal didn’t happen, Martin Zubimendi is also said to be a target, while Mikel Merino is also someone Arsenal are very keen on.

Arsenal were seemingly dazzled by Spain’s midfield during Euro 2024, and whether it’s Ruiz, Zubimendi or Merino, it looks as though Mikel Arteta will be adding a Spanish international midfielder to the squad this summer.
