Fabrizio Romano shares exciting Liverpool and Federico Chiesa update

Liverpool look set for a busy end to the summer transfer window as new Reds boss Arne Slot looks to bring some reinforcements in.

Liverpool are yet to officially get a signing over the line this summer, though Giorgi Mamardashvili is said to be close to going on the Anfield outfit’s books.

However, some exciting speculation has begun doing the rounds regarding Liverpool and Federico Chiesa.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has shared the latest involving the Reds and their pursuit of the Juventus forward.

Liverpool in direct talks over £12.6million Federico Chiesa move

Romano has taken to X to say Liverpool and Juventus are in direct contact over Chiesa, negotiations are ongoing, and the deal is ‘absolutely on’.

The transfer insider also said talks are taking place involving all three parties – Liverpool, Juve and Chiesa – over a €15million (£12.6million) deal.

What could Federico Chiesa bring to Liverpool?

Chiesa has been a great player for Juve and for Italy over the years.

Now, at 26 years of age, he’s entering his prime, making him a prime candidate to join a Premier League club.

Chiesa has made 131 appearances for Juve, grabbing 34 goals and 25 assists, and has also won 51 caps for Italy, scoring seven times.

wrote in 2020: “His strongest attributes are explosive speed allied with promising dribbling skills which he utilises fairly well when facing up defenders to burst past them on either side.

“He’s not a traditional winger tasked with launching crosses into the box; when he does beat his man, his preference is to vary his delivery into the box by attempting cut-backs or through balls into dangerous areas.

“You would be forgiven for thinking he was taller than his recorded height of 5’9″ too. He’s a powerful athlete able to use this physique and pace to create a number of problems for defences.”

Liverpool could be set for an absolute bargain if they land him for less than £15million, as Romano has reported.
