Fabrizio Romano says club pushing to sell ‘aggressive’ centre-back to Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur are pushing to get outfield signings through the door before Monday’s transfer deadline.
Spurs made a signing early on in the January transfer window, bringing Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky in from Slavia Prague.
Since then, however, Tottenham haven’t made any more signings, though not for lack of trying.
Tottenham sealed a verbal agreement with Bayern Munich to sign Mathys Tel, and Daniel Levy even flew to Munich to sign Tel.
However, Tel turned down the opportunity to join Spurs, even though he’s keen on a move to the Premier League.
Tottenham have now turned their attentions to a centre-back and appear to be making good progress on this front.

AC Milan pushing to get Fikayo Tomori to Tottenham deal done
Fabrizio Romano has taken to X on Saturday morning to report that AC Milan are actively pushing to sell Fikayo Tomori to Tottenham.
Negotiations are ongoing on the player’s side regarding personal terms, added the transfer insider.
Romano said Milan are eager to move Tomori on and are looking to get a new centre-back on board.
On Friday, it was reported that Tomori’s move to Tottenham is in the ‘final stages’ after Spurs made a £25.1million (€30million) offer including bonuses.
What Tomori could bring to Tottenham
Tottenham’s injury situation at the back this season has been near enough apocalyptic for Ange Postecoglou.
He has been without Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven for much of the campaign, and has been forced to use 18-year-old midfielder Archie Gray at centre-back.
And this week, Radu Dragusin suffered a knee injury that appears to be serious, leading to Tottenham fans calling for reinforcements at centre-back.
Tomori would be a very solid option for Spurs from the off should they manage to sign him over the next few days.
He is a defender in his prime with experience at the highest levels and, crucially, knows the Premier League very well.
Tomori has made 161 appearances for Milan and has won a Serie A title and an Italian Supercup with the Rossoneri.

Prior to his move to Milan, Tomori made 27 appearances for Chelsea, and he has also won five caps for the Three Lions.
Milan legend Mauro Tassotti is quoted by as saying: “Tomori is good at winning the ball back, his speed is impressive. He anticipates a lot and he’s always aggressive.”
Meanwhile, fellow Rossoneri icon Alessandro Nesta said Tomori and Kalulu are “two modern centre-backs who put pressure high up the pitch and leave a lot of space behind.
“That allows the team to stay high, which is fundamental nowadays.”
Paul Merson has called for Arsenal to sign Tomori ahead of Tottenham, saying he’d be a back-up on a similar level to William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.
