Fabrizio Romano says club do not want to sell their 23-year-old player, despite links with Arsenal

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will not be able to sign Jeremie Frimpong in the January transfer window.

ꦕThat is according to Fabrizio Romano, who has reported on X Bayer Leverkusen’s stance on the right-back.

So, what has been reported about Arsenal target Jeremie Frimpong? Let’s take a look.

Bayer Leverkusen will not sell Arsenal target Jeremie Frimpong in January

🔜Well, Arsenal have been linked with Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong. Earlier this month, reported that the Gunners want to sign the former Celtic player in the summer of 2024.

The report noted interest from Manchester United as well🐬 in the Netherlands international defender, adding that the 23-year-old would prefer a move to Arsenal to a transfer to the Red Devils.

🅠Fabrizio Romano has now given his take on the 23-year-old Bayer defender’s future

🐈The Italian journalist has claimed that the Bundesliga club will not sell him in the middle of the season, adding that his release clause of €40 million (£34.48 million) is valid only in the summer of 2024.

My View: Jeremie Frimpong would make Arsenal better

𒐪In my view, Jeremie Frimpong would be a good signing for Arsenal in the summer of 2024, especially for €40 million (£34.48 million).

✅It is not a huge price, especially for a club as big and wealthy as Arsenal. I do not have any doubts that the Gunners would be able to cough up that sum.

💦Frimpong is one of the best young right-backs in Germany who has done well for Bayer Leverkusen since his move from Celtic in 2021.

𝔍The Netherlands international has been deployed this season. He has scored five goals and given six assists in 16 Bundesliga matches this campaign.

Ben White is doing well at right-back for Arsenal𒊎, but the former Leeds United loanee is a centre-back by trade, so I believe that Frimpong would make the Gunners stronger and better on the right side of their defence.
