Fabrizio Romano says £53m Manchester United player is now expected to depart Old Trafford

Fabrizio Romano has stated that Anthony Martial is expected to leave Manchester United after months of poor form under Erik Ten Hag.

The 28-year-old attacker has been out of form for what feels like forever, with pundits such as Ally McCoist and Mark Schwarzer all suggesting that Martial has to be sold.

With just two goals all season, it’s clear that Martial wants out at United just as badly as the Red🅰 Devils wants to sign the former AS Monaco wonderkid, who they signed in 2013 for a reported £53m in total.

However, according to Romano , plans to offload Martial for good are in the works, with the Old Trafford side eager to get rid of the French wingꩲer as early as this month.

The Italian journalist said: “I think he is going to leave Manchester United. I don’t see any chance for Martial to stay at ಞManchester United beyond summe🦄r 2024.

“So, the idea is to part ways🧸, in which case United will go into the market looking for a new striker. The expectation always, though, is that Martial will leave, and this is something that’s probably needed for both sides.”

With the forward’s contract expiring at the end of this season, Marti♎al will be꧋ leaving United one way or another this year.

Yet for many fans, they would agre♚e that Martial being sold for something in the January transfer window would be for the best, with the forward simply having no place in the United squad as it currently stands.

Indeed, the 28-year-old is at a stage of his career where he should be at his p🌠eak, yet it’s hard to see how Martiꦍal can return to his former best under Ten Hag.

And as a result, the Frenchman should be looking for any sort of permanent move this January, with Martial seemingღly keen to prove he can stiꦑll make an impact at the top.
