Fabrizio Romano has reported that Leeds United are getting closer to extending Wilfried Gnonto’s Elland Road contract.
Romano༒, writing on , claims there could be some “fantastic news” for the Whites media team to share in the coming days.
Last summer, Gnontoꦅ reportedly tried to force through a move away from Leeds following the club’s relegation to the Championship.
💝Everton made moves to sign the 20-year-old, but they failed to make a breakthrough and, as such, the player stayed put at Elland Road.
🀅Gnonto and Leeds subsequently patched things up as the Italian apologised to Daniel Farke and returned to training. He has gone on to make 24 appearances this season.

🌃Now, it looks as though both parties could be edging closer to a contract renewal, with the player committing his future to the Yorkshire club.
ไ“Leeds’ priority will be to extend Gnonto’s contract,” Romano wrote on GiveMeSport. “This is getting closer and would be fantastic news for Leeds.
𓃲“They’re pushing for the final details to be resolved as soon as possible and for the contract to be signed in the next hours or days. So, this is their priority.”
Leeds edging closer to Wilfried Gnonto contract renewal
🔴Gnonto was one of the few bright spots in a very difficult Leeds campaign last term, quickly winning fans over with his outstanding talent.
▨Although things risked going pear-shaped in the summer, that’s now water under the bridge, and all parties are happy with how things are going.
✨Hopefully it won’t be long before we get the Romano “here we go” or, better yet, the official Leeds announcement.
🌱With Leeds very much in promotion contention, it would be a big boost for the club and the fanbase as they look to bounce back at the first time of asking.
