‘Extremely fast’ player left out of matchday squad today, as Fabrizio Romano says Tottenham deal ‘almost done’

Tottenham Hotspur target Timo Werner has been left out of the RB Leipzig squad for Saturday’s match.

That is according to journalist Fabrizio Romano,♉ who has given an update on a potential Tottenham deal for Werner.

Well, Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with former Chelsea forward Timo Werner. Yes,🍃 just 💞like you, I am surprised.

After all, Werner did not have the best of times at Chelsea൩. While the forward worked hard on the pitch and of his then teammates, he just did not have the impact and numbers that were expꦯected from him.

The 27-year-old Germany international, who can operate as a striker or as a forward, made 56 appearances in the Premier Le🍸ague while he was at Chelsea. He scored 10 goals and gave nine assists in those games.

So, when Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg reported this morning that Tottenham were close to finalising a 𓆏deal with RB Leipzig over Werner, I was surprised.

Since then, it has been reported that Tottenham have agreed a loan deal for Werner, who is “an extremely fast player” according to Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

The striker has struggled for Leipzig this season. He has made 🐎two starts and six substi🍨tute appearances in the Bundesliga.

Werner has scored two goals in those games. The forwa🔯rd has also made four substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League this season.
