Report: Moshiri wants talks with ‘tactical genius’, Everton have Nuno concerns

According to the , Farhad Moshiri intends to hold talks with Rafa Benitez over bec♕oming the next Everton manager.

Theꦇ Toffees’ owner has turned to the former Liverpool head coach after discussions with Nuno Espirito San✅to raised issues. Moshiri had spoken with the Portuguese’s representatives to sound out his interest in replacing Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park.

But Nuno’s financial demands and plans for his backroom staff have proven concerning for Everton. This comes after his talks with Crystal Palace over succeeding Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Pa🐻rk collapsed on Tuesday.

Nuno was the favourite for the Everton job after Ancelotti left to re-join Real Madrid following Zinedine Zidane’s departure. David Moyes has also been in the mix, but Moshiri would on🏅ly pursue the Scotsman with West Ham’s permission.

Benitez is now edging closer to the top of Moshiri’s shortlist and wants to sit down with the Spaniard to discuss him joining Everton this summer. The 61-year-old has been out of work since 𓃲leaving DL Pro in January, while his family still li💫ve on Merseyside.

Figures at Everton have already approached Benitez to sound out his interest in their vacant position, per . He is hungry to return to a Premier League dugout after two years away, as𒈔 well.

Everton could land a ‘tactical genius’ with Benitez

Moshiri appointing Benitez as the next Everton manager may not be a decision that goes down well with the fanbase. His prior ties to Liver𝄹pool will raise a natural reluctance to welcome the veteran coach to Goodison Park.

Some may also look down on the style of football Benitez developed at Newcastle United during his last Premier ❀League job. To keep the Toon in the top-flight, they became a difficult side tཧo break down but could lack going forward.

But some of those who h🐬ave previously worked with Benitez laud his knowledge. Former Reds defender John Arne Riise is one, with the Norwegian calling him ‘a tactical🔯 genius’ () in 2016. And it would be that sort of manager that Moshiri hires by targeting the 61-year-old.
