Everton fans react as Everton reportedly closing in on Jean-Clair Todibo
Everton are reportedly closing in on a move to sign Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo this summer as Carlo Ancelotti looks to bring in a central defender – and Everton supporters have reacted on Twitter to the news.
that Everton are ‘close’ to a move to sign France Under-21 international Todibo, who joined Barcelona from Toulouse in January 2019. Just five appearances for Barca later, Todibo was sent on loan to Schalke.
A number of injuries have prevented the 21-year-old from making more than seven appearances for Schalke, but that has not stopped Everton from luring the French centre-back to Goodison Park.
The report claims that Everton are in talks with Barcelona over a move for Todibo. It is believed Barcelona want as much as £21.8million for Todibo, but Everton are only willing to pay £17.4million up front and £4.4million in instalments.
The player is believed to have agreed a move to Goodison Park, with Everton likely to want central defenders given that they failed to bring in replacements for Kurt Zouma and Phil Jagielka. Michael Keane and Yerry Mina is inconsistent.
Everton fans have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Todibo could be on his way to Merseyside in the coming months, and many believe he would be a good signing.
