‘Downgrade’… Barry Ferguson is in ‘no doubt’ that £3.5m summer signing has not improved Celtic

It’s weird because not too long ago Barry Ferguson was singing the praises of Celtic winger, Luis Palma, and now after one defeat, he seems to have changed his tune.

The former Rangers hero was🐻 giving his opinion on how Celtic managed to lose at Rugby Park when he said that the £3.5m summer signing from Aris is now deemed a ‘downgrade’ on Portugueꦅse winger, Jota.

I don’t think many fans will disagree that Palma is not on Jota’s level but F🌳erguson really does need to make up his mind.

At the beginning of November, Ferguson said this on t𓆉he Honduran, “Is he going to be the same as Jota?

“I was unsure but over the l🔯ast few weeks, he is certainly showing signs that for £3.5m that it’s been money really well spent.

“Good feet, quick, got an eye for goal. That’s🐼 what you want💧 from your forward-thinking players.”

This was after Palma shone in the 3-0 win over Ross County when the Honduran international scored a screamerꦦ up at Dingwall.

But now? After one defeat, it 🎀seems Ferguson has completely changed his mind.

Barry Ferguson calls Celtic winger, Luis Palma, a ‘downgrade’

Speaking 24 hours after༒ Celtic’s defeat, Ferguson was in ‘nꦬo doubt’ about what he thought about the Celtic winger.

Ferguson said [], “Obviously Jota going in the summer. And then Palma coming in.

“I think that’s a downgrade, no doubt about it.

“So, in the areas where they need to make things ♔happen, I think Celtic are weaker this season.”

It also wasn’t too long ago when Barry said Luis Palma is showing real potential after the 6-0 win over Aberdeen.

So my guess is when Celtic are winning, Palma is good. But when they are losing, he’s not fit enough to wear t﷽he green and white hoops.

This is qꦡuite bizarre from Ferguson especially when there were a lot worse playeꦗrs out there against Kilmarnock on Sunday.
