Dennis Bergkamp shares the ‘only thing’ which used to really bother Thierry Henry at Arsenal
Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp has now been taking a trip down memory lane, reminiscing the days playing alongside Thierry Henry.
ಞThe duo are such an integral part of Arsenal’s history, a partnership that will always stand the test of time.

And in this case, the proof is in the bronze, in the statues that both Arsenal legends have outside of the Emirates.
That being said, Dennis Bergkamp has now been discussing Thierry Henry’s time at Arsenal whilst on the ‘’ podcast.
🧸Bergkamp spoke to David Seaman at length about Henry’s success, and revealed something that used to bother him at Arsenal.
ౠBergkamp said: “Maybe sometimes the only thing that bothered him was his own mind or his own drive you know, he was so hard on himself sometimes.
♋“That got in the way sometimes but what a player, unbelievable.”
🐟He continued: “I think Arsene said something about that didn’t he, that Thierry forgot how to score goals.
🔥“He had to put himself, and Arsene had to put him in a sort of mindset like ‘okay, go more upfront, go take your chances’, because you remember as well, he was always drifting off to the left.
ꦉ“He was getting the ball and then yeah, he had four or five players to pass [to], sometimes that worked but a lot of times not.
🌳“He had to find his way, definitely, but what a player.”
Dennis Bergkamp says Thierry Henry was incredibly hard on himself at Arsenal
🔯Of course, this famous duo is the standard that all current Arsenal players are trying to live up to.
Although the comparison is often mentioned these days, it still feels wrong to compare Kai Havertz to Dennis Bergkamp.

✤Not because the two don’t have similarities, rather there’s just too big of a chasm between what they have achieved.
♊Bergkamp won three league titles at Arsenal, Henry won two.
And to be compared to these greats, the likes of Gabriel Jesus or Havertz do have an awful long way to go.
🐠However, with the trajectory their on, there’s no reason why several members of this current Arsenal squad can’t go on to be greats.
That being said, 🦋Dennis Bergkamp has now made a bold prediction for this weekend’s trip to Liverpool.
ꦅIt’s a huge game for Arsenal, the sort that a Bergkamp or an Henry would have relished.
And if this current Mikel Arteta♚ squad are to have their place in history, it’s the kind of opportunity that needs to be taken.
