Defender discusses whether he will be at Everton next season

that he remains unsure i🌞f he will be at Everton beyond the summer, with hi🐷s contract set to expire in June.

The 36-year-old has been left on the sidelines for much of the season, but has returned to Marco Silva’s side to feature in the Toffees’ last two Premier League matches. He has played just fi♓ve matches this season.

Indeed, Jagielka captained and scored the winner for Everton in a 1-0 win over Arsenal. But he played the entire 90 minutes on Satur✤day as Everton suffered a dismal 2-0 loss to already-relegated Fulham.

Asked whet🐎her he knows if he is going to remain at Everton beyond the summer, Jagielꦡka stated that he is unsure but he wants to know as soon as possible. He also predicted a busy summer window at Goodison Park.

“No. I w🐻as a lot happier last week than I am this week but that’s the way 💜football goes,” “We win together as a team and lose together as a team but as far as my future, it will happen as and when it does.

“You would prefer to know as quick as possible. I’m sure there is going to be another sizeable turnaround in the summer. You have to be patient. It’s a ಌcase of just getting on with things and hopefully knowing soon.”

TBR’s view

Do Everton need Jagielka? It is a tricky question to answer. An excellent defender with huge experience in the Premier♑ League, it might be worth keeping the centre-back just to help the younger members of Everton’s team.

He showed against Arsenal that age is just a number, but against Fulham he showed that age is certainly a factor 🃏worth considering. He has clocked up 383 appearances for Everton, since joining i𒆙n 2007 for £4million ().

Kurt Zouma is only on loan and it remains to be seen if a permanent move to Everton is in the offing. Mason Holgate is out on loan, while Yerry Mina has not lived up t🍌o expectation. Perhaps a 12-month deal, acting as cover, could give the Toffees that safety net.
