David Moyes almost signed Robert Huth for Everton
Moyes spoke about signing Lescott instead of Hꦿuth.
“Joleon we must’ve scouted him about 24 times live because I had the decision to sign him or Robert Huth. It was the toss of a coin. I wanted a left-footed centre-back if I coul𝓡d. It was touch and go, will I or won’t I🌄? But we signed Joleon and he was a brilliant buy for us and he went on to become an England international,” Moyes said.
Robert Huth vs Joleon Lescott

Lescott, meanܫwhile, went on to become a fantastic player for Manchester City, winning two Prem♛ier League titles during his time at the Etihad.
Both players formed a brilliant Premier League legacy, but considering that Lescott fetched a huge £22m transfer fee when he left Everton and Huth’s stock was ne𝓀ver as high, despite his ability, fไrom a business perspective, it’s fair to say that Lescott was the better option.
Moyes’ Everton were an incredible defღensive unit, and Lescott played a massive part in the Toffees’ success in the late 2000s.
