David Moyes has identified what Everton need to become European contenders

Former Everton boss David Moyes believes he knows what it would take for Everton to cliꦍmb back up the Premier League table, having addressed the poor form of his ex-club.

“I don’t think Everton are a million miles off it — I think they need to g🎃et a bit more leadership on the field. Maybe they have to go 🍸back to a little of the basics of where they were before,” he told .

It comes as st♐alwarts of his reign at Goodison Park, such as Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines, near the end of their careers and have less and less influence in the squad, with Seamus Coleman the only real leader in the side.

Moyes believes that the club should consider the kind of personalities they are bringing in when they look to do transfer business this summer, reco꧃gnising the quality of youngsters like Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane and others, but pointing to the lack of leadership.

Marco Silva has been keen to continue the club’s policy of bringing in young players but has perhaps done so 🦋to the detriment of the experience of the men available to him.

Moyes, still the most recent manager to be classed as 🍸a success at the club, knows the club ebtter than most and should surely have his opinion considered.
